The primary means of personal and spiritual growth at Creekside takes place in the intimacy of what we call “Small Groups”. We believe Christ-centered relationships are the lifeblood to sustained spiritual growth. In a Small Group, people study God's Word and discuss the relevant issues and challenges of life. This is also where we pray, care for one another, and are missed if we don't show up.
Below here are some frequently asked questions that may help you make the next step to join us!
What is a small group?
Small Groups are groups of 4 – 10 married or single adults that meet weekly in someone’s home for fellowship, Bible study, and prayer. They are for adults of all ages, stages of life, and spiritual maturity.
What kind of small groups are there?
There are Small Groups comprised of Married Couples, Men’s Groups and Women’s Groups
What do the groups study?
Each group picks their own curriculum to study. The pastoral staff is available to provide guidance and resource options. An example of a highly recommended resource and great place to begin is:
Starting Point: a 10-week conversational small group where people can explore faith and experience community. These groups are comprised of men and women of all ages and stages of life (single, married, divorced, and widowed).
When do the small groups meet?Groups either meet in a consistent location (the home of a group member or public facility) or some groups prefer to take turns meeting in different members’ homes.
What goes on at a small group meeting?
At the onset of a Small Group, the whole group decides how much time they will spend on social interaction, group discussion, and prayer time (as well as the order in which they take place). Though each group differs in how they do things, many groups have a social time in the beginning, then they transition to a time where they discuss the agreed on study resource and close their time together by praying for each other.
